This Sunday

We had an amazing Volunteer Celebration last night in the new building. It was such an energy filled night with all of you. We had a great turnout. As we prepare for this first Sunday, there are a few things I want to ask you to help us with.

We think parking is going to be huge issue. Those of you who volunteer and are regular attenders, would you consider giving up the nice parking spots for our guests? Would you park (if it doesn't rain) your car between the parking lot and Reunion horse stables. Let's leave a ton of room for our guests.

Last night we said, 1) Let's make sure that we do NOT have the attitude that "we have arrived." We have NOT arrived. This is only a building that is home base for us to do what God wants us to do. In the next few weeks you are going to hear about our future and I am pumped. The best days are still ahead of us. 2) Continue to "invest and invite." You know what that means. 3) You know what this is...I cannot say it here....it's only for awesome volunteers. Sorry!

Grand opening is Sunday, September 12, 2010. On that day it will be packed and busy. Please wear a smile and bring a positive attitude. Be willing to give up your seat, your donut, your parking spot for someone else who may be a first timer. Thanks.

This Sunday, between the 9:00 and 10:30 service, Xtreme (Grades 1-5) is kicking off their first ever Xtreme Live from 10:00-10:20 in the Xtreme room. It is going to be awesome. Kids cannot go without their parents, so parents, get here early so you can experience this with your kids. I hope I can make it.

Finally, Married Life Live is SOLD OUT! Wow, we sold out! That is unreal. Because we are doing something different this time and the team tells me that they are going to open up some more spots. So sign up this Sunday. We will be ready to go at 6:00pm on Sept. 11, but you can arrive earlier to hang out and tailgate with others. It is going to be awesome.

Please tell us something if you were here last night. What was the biggest surprise to you about our new building? Post a comment.

The Day Has Come

Hey Volunteers! If you serve in LifeBridge in any capacity (setup/teardown, teaching, band, landscaping, office, greeter, small group leader, etc.), then you better be with us tonight at the celebration for YOU. It is going to be a history making night you will NOT want to miss. This service tonight is to celebrate with you about all that God has done in and through you. We start at 6:30 p.m. at the new building on Gluckstadt Road (3 miles west of I-55). We will have childcare provided by our great friends at NorthRidge Church in Ridgeland. Eric Smith is the Pastor there and a dear friend I truly respect.

Hope to see you tonight. Call 601 605 5433 if you need directions. Gonna be a great night.

New Home

It is hard to believe we have done our last load in and load out at Madison Station Elementary. It has been an amazing journey thus far. If you missed the service yesterday, you missed an awesome time. The topic was tough, but we had fun recognizing and saying thank you to the school for the last five plus years we have been able to meet there. Yesterday afternoon a handful of you met us at the new building and helped us unload all the stuff. Wow, how awesome to have a place to land.

This Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. we will have a volunteer celebration. If you serve in any form or fashion, you need to be there. We will have childcare for those in fifth grade and below. NorthRidge Church from Ridgeland, a church plant like LifeBridge, is providing the childcare in our building. This may be a great time to invite someone who you are thinking about inviting to serve alongside of you.

Please help us convey a message to our friends and guest. These first few weeks we are going to be working out the kinks. One of those "kinks" is acoustic panels that will be in the adult room--we won't have them for a few more weeks. Also all our audio and video stuff is still in progress. We will have to use our old system for a few weeks. But it will be worth it to be in the new building even without those things. By the end of September we should have everything going as it should.

See you Wednesday at the NEW BUILDING. Our street address is 521 Gluckstadt Road, but our mailing address will continue to be P.O. Box 595, Madison, MS 39130.

Thanks and have a great week.

It's Finally Here

Wow, what an incredible Sunday we experienced this past weekend. Bar Room Brawl I is in the books. If you missed it, please go online and listen to it.

We have finally received the okay to start moving into our new offices. Starting today we will start moving things from our old office to our new office. If you can help in any way this week for one trip or half a day, we would gladly use you. Email me at philip@mylifebridge.com and let me know your number and I will call to tell you where to meet us.

Also, this Saturday we will have a work day on the property to get it ready for our first Sunday on September 5. We need a ton of help. If you have a tiller, rakes, gloves, shovels, etc, please bring them--and bring yourself! We start at 7 am and will try to close down by noon. If you can come the entire time or just thirty minutes, we'll take what we can get!

Also, Sunday we had the largest one day sign up for Married Life Live. We may have two more Sundays before it happens, but we may sell out of spots this Sunday. We CANNOT add more chairs in our new building. Space is limited for MLL, so if you plan to attend you need to sign up this Sunday. Don't wait and possibly miss the opportunity to attend. It is going to be an awesome event on Saturday, September 11. The team has put together an incredible evening that you are NOT going to want to miss.

Don't forget that we move into the new building on September 5, but our grand opening is Sunday, September 12. It's going to be a great day. Also, if you are a volunteer, don't forget our celebration on September 1.

Have a great week.

Thoughts for the Week

Wow, yesterday was an amazing day. Getting to see four individuals follow Christ in baptism, truly amazing. This never gets old to me and I hope it doesn't for you as well. If it bothers you, then you may need to check and see what is going on inside of you. When God brings life change, it is worth getting excited about it. In fact, when we have our grand opening in a few weeks, we will have another baptism service with more people being baptized and a chance to celebrate what God wants to continue to do.

On Wednesday, September 1 (NOTE THE CHANGE) we will have our first celebration in the new building for ALL our VOLUNTEERS ONLY. This is going to be an incredible time of celebration and committing to God. Our Amplify (youth) band is going to be leading us in music and childcare is going to be provided by some of our friends from another church so that ALL of our volunteers can be in one place. We will start at 6:30 and be out in plenty of time for you to get home and get your school kids in bed. Plan now to be with us.

Just a few things I want to convey to you all. On Sunday, September 5 we will move into our new building. On this Sunday, we will have FULL Children's programs at both the 9:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. services. This is huge. We have the best volunteers in the world. Some are having to double up to make sure this happens. I hope and pray God convicts some of the CONSUMER Christians at LifeBridge to get off the bench and start serving somewhere, instead of just serving yourself. We are growing and need more servants. I know that is harsh, but from all indications some of you just want to sit on the bench and take up a spot and do NOTHING (perhaps except complain). Life is too short and there are too many people that need to know about God's love and plan for their life. Let's triple our volunteers so we can reach more people with God's love.

On September 11 we will have Married Life Live in our own building! We are going to have groups that will set up tailgating events (with food!) in our parking lot so you can get a bite to eat before the event. So bring a lawn chair for the outside tailgating (that start at 6:00pm). After eating with different tailgaters we will move inside and enjoy an incredible evening of entertainment and encouragement for our marriages. The cost is $15.00 per couple and spots will fill up quickly. You can sign up Sunday at the Married Life Live table in the foyer of the school. It's gonna be off the charts fun.

Sunday, September 12 we are going to have a blow out Sunday. We are doing another baptism service. If you have NOT been baptized and feel God is leading you to do that, please let me know (philip@mylifebridge.com). We need to shoot your video testimony and plan your baptism time. We will have two services to celebrate.

I want you all to say thanks to some of the most incredible volunteer staff members I have ever known. They bust their tails for you so that you can worship and do countless other things. They serve your children in incredible ways. Please call them, text them, email them, bring them happys, or simply say thank you to them. They serve hours upon hours and often times all they hear is complaining. Please thank Carrie Grace and Catherine who lead our Nursery. Thank Kim, Tracee, Meghan, Jennifer, and Diane who oversee our Preschool ministry (52nd Street). Also say thanks to Glenn, Sherry, Amanda, and Jocelyn for all they do in Xtreme (Grades 1-5). Wow, you all are truly the best.

FInally, we hope this week we can move into our new office space at our new building. If you are available at any time to help us move, please email us at staff@mylifebridge.com and let us know. We will contact you when we get ready to move.

Have a great week.
